A Wedding Photographers' Look Back At 2023...

Another year gone (almost), another truly wonderful year of meeting some beautiful couples up and down the UK, and having the privilege of being their chosen wedding photographer. From photographing in my local area of Staffordshire, to brides and grooms in Cheshire and further afield... it's been an absolute pleasure to photograph the 'big day' for so many lovely people. Beautiful brides, dapper grooms, tearful fathers, radiant mums... and one or two delightful, four legged friends...

The 'daily grind' of having to go to work... as a wedding photographer, and someone who genuinely loves their profession, it's such a blessing that I've never felt this feeling. Meeting excited couples, during what is often one of the most stressful occasions of their lives, and helping be a part of what turns into the most incredible, joyous and amazing day, is such a rare opportunity, and certainly one I don't take for granted. The tears, the laughter. The great friends of yesteryear celebrating, the close family remembered. The highs, the lows and everything in between... being asked to capture all that, is both a daunting task and a remarkable chance for a wedding photographer, but one I so thoroughly enjoy. A BIG thank you to all the brides and grooms that asked me to photograph them and their closest friends and family this year... it's been an absolute delight.

Getting married in 2024, 2025, 2026? Just received a very special gift from underneath the Christmas tree? If you would like my help photographing your wedding day, please don't hesitate to get in touch. And if you are right at the beginning of this exciting journey of planning your big day, here are a few tips...

  • Define your style: Do you prefer classic portraits, candid moments, or a more artistic approach? Browse photographer portfolios to find someone whose style resonates with you.
  • Consider your budget: Wedding photography packages can vary significantly. Be upfront about your budget and discuss options with potential photographers.
  • Look for personality: Your photographer will be with you all day, so finding someone you connect with is crucial. Schedule consultations to get to know their personality and discuss your vision.
  • Embrace the outdoors: Let the beauty of the UK's countryside shine through in your photos. Take advantage of rolling hills, charming villages, and picturesque gardens.
  • Focus on genuine moments: Don't get bogged down in staged poses. Let your photographer capture the candid moments of laughter, tears, and joy that make your wedding day special.

Wedding photography is an investment that will last a lifetime. By choosing the right photographer and capturing the essence of your wedding, you'll create memories that you and your loved ones will treasure forever.

Bonus Tips for Booking a Wedding Photography:

  • Book your photographer early: Popular photographers book up quickly, so don't wait until the last minute.
  • Communicate your vision: Be clear with your photographer about your expectations and desired style.
  • Relax and enjoy your day! Your photographer is there to capture the magic, so focus on soaking up every moment of your special day.

Happy wedding planning, Merry Christmas and wishing everyone a fantastic New Year!
