In the spiritual home of Rugby Union, and the county of Shakespeare himself, Jessica and Tim began their married lives together at Dunchurch Park Hotel, Warwickshire. On a beautiful August day, the happy couple made their vows in front of a joyous party of friends of family.
'Jon, what comes to your mind when you think of a quintessential English wedding?' I would have to say I'd struggle to remember a more perfect example than the day I photographed Jessica and Tim at Dunchurch Park Hotel in Warwickshire on Sunday the 21st of August 2016. I think there are four main parts to complete the perfect English wedding... the couple (obviously), the day, the venue and the mode of transport...
The couple... what can I say? Jessica and Tim were a true joy to work with and I was honoured to photograph their special day. Both laid back and happy, enjoying each others company and as you'll see in the photographs, surrounded by lovely people too, all delighted to be able to help celebrate their day with them. It was a wonderful ceremony and there really wasn't a dry eye in the house. As the gorgeous Jessica made her way down the aisle, with a beautiful, jewelled, headband through her stunning red hair, she was greeted by her husband to be, Tim, accompanied by his best man, and father, Steve. Wonderful!
The day... well if you want a romantic English wedding, what better way to capture it than on a hot Summer's Sunday in August. With such amazing green scenery left, right and everywhere, being blessed with such a lovely day let us take full advantage of the Warwickshire countryside and the lake and gardens that Dunchurch has to offer.
The venue... again, when I think of England, being an Englishman evokes suggestions of the things we pride ourselves on. Rugby (most of the time), our great literary works, such as William Shakespeare and of course the backdrop of a country manor house surrounded by acres of land, echoes of Downton Abbey. In Rugby, the county of Warwickshire and Dunchurch Park Hotel, we've ticked all three of those boxes. The Grade II listed manor house in Dunchurch, offers 72 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds, including a lake and fountain. As a photographer, it is simply a dream to have such amazing sights to place throughout a wedding album and with mini shoots before and after the ceremony amongst the greenery, myself, Jessica and Tim were able to snap some great shots of their Warwickshire wedding.
The transport... last but certainly not least, the horse and cart... well there was certainly horse power, and the cart wasn't too shabby either! In keeping with my idyllic English wedding day, the groom and his best man, Tim and Steve, arrived at Dunchurch in a classic of British motor heritage, the Bentley. Classic, sleek and a joy to see (and hear) approaching.
